Well, we are all still alive... that's the good news.
Kaeli cried, mommy cried, daddy said his eyes were watering, but didn't believe he was "crying".... hmmmmm.... I'm pretty sure that it was crying because Kaeli was crying her head off and screaming "Daddy!" "Daddy!" "Daddy!" for about 7 minutes of a 10 minute lesson. The remaining 3 minutes was "Mommy!" "Mommy!" "Mommy!".... ugh.... I handle Kaeli getting shots much better than I did the first day of swim lessons. On a postive note - she did VERY well and the instructor seemed impressed on how she did handle herself for her head going under the water for the first time. She did spit out the pool water like she was supposed to - she's a smart cookie! Kaeli also took the instructors hands and went right into the pool with her. She was VERY patient and VERY gentle with her, which was a huge relief for us.
I'll be interested to see how day #2 goes - whether she'll get in the water or not, whether she will take the instructors hands. We keep telling her that we're very proud of her, she is very brave and will be swimming like Nemo in no time!
Meanwhile, mommy will be running through kleenex until she gets comfortable in the water... I may need some therapy, too :-)
